Our local council has recently installed a number of Chewing Gum Bins in the town centre to try and discourage people from throwing their chewing gum on the floor. The Chewing Gum Bins have been placed on buildings, outside fast food restaurants and close to pubs and clubs. The Chewing Gum Bins are bright blue in colour and are really visible and easy to see. I think it is a good idea by the council to install these bins as before the town centre was littered with peoples discarded chewing gum. Not only does this look really bad but chewing gum thrown on the floor is also unhygienic and hazard to the environment. By using these bins people will help to make the town centre look cleaner, which has got to be a good thing! Not to mention the money the council will save cleaning up people`s chewing gum off the floor. Maybe that money could be put to good use such as building a new school or hospital for the local area.
